When the solidification and cooling period is over, the part is released form the mold, the sand and frame are saved and recycled for future mold development. Each piece undergoes a precisely determined cooling period to insure that its physical properties are consistent with the client’s specifications. The piece is then freed of its risers and feed runners, shot-blasted and cleaned up. It can then be shipped to the client or readied for additional treatment, such as: • Thermal treatment • Machining • Painting
