When the solidification and cooling period is over, the casting is released from the mold, the sand and frame are saved and recycled for future mold development. Each piece undergoes a precisely determined cooling period to insure that its physical properties are consistent with the client’s specifications. The piece is then freed of its risers and feed runners, shot-blasted and cleaned up. If required, the casting can then undergo any of these: - Thermal treatment - Machining - Painting - Or additional testing After an exhaustive final inspection, it can finally be shipped to the client.
